RECOMMANDED FOR:

Process owners, whether or not they are new to an existing Quality Management System where the process map is "up to date".

Quality / QHSE managers, engineers, and technicians.

 

CONTEXT:

  • Your company is preparing for or already certified to IATF 16949: 2016.
  • Your quality management system, based on the automotive process approach, needs to be supported by process owners.
  • You want to strengthen their skills to provide the leadership required for an effective and efficient QMS.
  • You want to formalize the qualifications of your process owners.

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Identify the responsibilities and tasks of a process owner as required by IATF 16949.
  • Practice (using a case study) the various activities to be carried out by the process owner.
  • Involve participants in their continuous improvement plan.
  • Pass two exams to certify their qualification as a process owner.

 

PREREQUISITES:

Knowledge of basic concepts and tools (PDCA, Crosby Turtle, 5W, QQOCCP...). Have your own laptop.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / EN 9100 standards is not required.

 

SPECIFIC OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR REMOTE SESSIONS:

  • Have a PC with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: background screens are available on Zoom or Teams to blur or hide the rear view.
  • Have a good Internet connection, to be tested before the session.
  • Be installed in a quiet, isolated place ; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams ; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
  • Participants from the same organization should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at his/ her own desk, to avoid any side discussions during the session. Virtual sub-groups will be specially created for the exercises, which will also enable mixed groups.
  • Remote qualification/certification exams must be taken with camera and microphone open. We may also need to check that you are alone in the room.
  • Please connect 5 minutes before the start of the session.

 

TRAINING METHOD:

Team activities and building a Personal Progress Plan (PPP). The team activities are based on a case study that allows participants to "live the experience" of a process owner and thus to be put into a practical situation.

 

TRAINING PROGRAM:

  1. The origins, the 5 principles of process management and the requirements of the IATF 16949 standard.
  2. The roles and missions of process owners.
  3. Links between strategy deployment and process management (case study).
  4. Building a process identity card (process boundaries and purposes, identification, and representation of the main activities).
  5. Determining the relevant interested parties, their requirements, and the performance and warning indicators for monitoring the process performance.
  6. Objectives planification / the Process Progress Plan.
  7. Know how to conduct a process risk analysis using the SWOT or DROP method and decide on the actions to be taken.
  8. Use the principles and methods of visual management to animate the process management routines.
  9. Knowing how to prepare and lead the process review and formalizing the link with the management review.
  10. Building the Personal Progress Plan for each process owner.

6 weeks later – remote session :

At the end of the second day, each participant agrees to apply 2 lessons learned: remotely, each participant presents the work done, the conditions of application and the results obtained/documents produced.

The trainer carries out a detailed review (strengths and areas for improvement) and reinforces the messages and practical recommendations by guiding the participants in the context of their practical applications.

 

EVALUATION METHOD:

Examination with two tests.

6 weeks later: Presentation and review of the work, the application conditions, and the obtained results.

 

SKILLS VALIDATION:

Certificate of qualification FIEV / IATF FRANCE.

 

TRAINING MATERIALS:

Participant file with course and exercise materials. Training materials in digital format are made available to trainees a few days before the course.
