CONTEXT:

You would like to:

  • Deploy a continuous improvement approach through a project for the whole company (workshops and offices).
  • Use a practical methodology to improve the quality, safety, and productivity issues.

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Understand and learn the 5S methodology and ensure its deep and sustainable application.
  • Learn how to involve all employees in the 5S approach.
  • Prevent method deployment pitfalls.

 

PREREQUISITES:

No prerequisite.

 

TRAINING METHOD:

Preliminary preparation stage is required in order to define 5S scope for the 5S workshop and meet the conditions for the training success.

Learn by doing: After a brief introduction, subgroups will apply the "5S" steps on the field. Improvement actions will be carried out by the operational staff (operators and managers) of the sectors being addressed. Several areas could be covered simultaneously.

 

TRAINING PROGRAM:

  1. 5S concepts, challenges, and impact on productivity.
  2. Visit to the area(s) where the workshop(s) will be conducted
  3. 1st Step: Sorting (Seiri) and identification of improvement opportunities
  4. 2nd Step: Set in Order (Seiton) and identification of improvement opportunities
  5. 3rd Step: Shine (Seiso) and identification of improvement opportunities
  6. 4th Step: Standardise (Seiketsu) and identification of improvement opportunities
  7. 5th Step: Sustain (Shitsuke) and identification of improvement opportunities
  8. Evaluation of the results and action plan

TRAINING MATERIALS:

Participant file including presentations delivered during the course, forms, and templates. Training materials in digital format are made available to trainees a few days before the course.
